Who we are

Solaris Energy SA ("Solaris", "we", "us") is a South African solar energy company with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. We are the responsible party for personal information processed through this website under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and deliver our services:

• Contact details you submit through our forms: name, company, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, and city or suburb
• Enquiry context you choose to share: property type, monthly electricity spend, objectives and messages
• Technical submission context: the page the enquiry came from, referrer and campaign parameters, and the date and time of submission

Why we collect it

We process personal information to respond to your enquiry, assess your energy requirements, prepare proposals, deliver and support installations, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

Consent and communication

Our forms require your explicit consent before submission. We contact you about your enquiry and our services related to it. You may withdraw consent or object to processing at any time by emailing us; we will act on it promptly.

How long we keep it

Enquiry information is retained for as long as needed to serve you and for reasonable business record-keeping. Where a relationship does not proceed, we delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, unless law requires longer retention.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information: encrypted transmission, access limited to the staff who need it, and spam protection on our forms. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach materially affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Third-party processing

Form submissions are delivered to us via reputable infrastructure providers (website hosting and transactional email) acting as operators on our instructions. Analytics, where enabled, is configured to respect visitor privacy.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal information
• Object to processing or withdraw consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za)
