Client context

A distribution facility in the northern suburbs of Cape Town running refrigeration and materials-handling loads through daylight hours, on a demand-based commercial tariff.

The challenge

Rising tariffs were eroding margins, but the board required a defensible feasibility study, structural certainty on the roof and zero disruption to operations during installation.

The Solaris solution

A metered load study and tariff analysis preceded design. The grid-tied array was phased across roof sections with structural sign-off, and generation was matched to the daytime load curve to maximise self-consumption without export penalties.
