Client context
A multi-tenant office property in the Edenvale area where every load-shedding stage meant generator diesel costs and tenant complaints.
The challenge
The generator was expensive to run and noisy. The body corporate wanted silent, automatic continuity for core circuits and a path to lower common-area electricity costs.
The Solaris solution
A hybrid design combined rooftop PV with battery storage sized from the metered essential load. The generator was retained for extended outages and integrated for automatic changeover, cutting its runtime dramatically.
Results
- Silent, automatic backup for core tenant circuits
- Generator runtime and diesel spend reduced to a fraction
- Common-area electricity costs meaningfully offset by solar
